Giving the Basics

Hall Family Foundation’s grantmaking in the area of Children, Youth & Families seeks to improve well-being among vulnerable children and families. Giving the Basics distributes personal hygiene products that are not eligible for purchase through government assistance programs, filling a hole in the social service safety net and allowing greater personal dignity. Items distributed by the organization, which recently opened its new warehouse in Kansas City, Kansas, include soap, shampoo and toilet paper, among many others. It partners with schools, police departments and various emergency assistance nonprofit organizations to distribute items to those children and families who are most in need, using an efficient system to ensure that the necessary products are procured and transferred to partner organizations for distribution. The Foundation is proud to partner with an organization that saw a previously unmet need and took action to fill that need.
